Hi Krissy
Have you tried a seach on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ? You can check it out for yourself there. It is free to search - you only need to pay if you see one you think is "it" and want to see the whole census page.

If you can't find any sign of her there, please come back to us and we will ty to help.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hiya Krissy,
You can also try the indexes on Ancestry. No need to pay for a full subscription. There are many less costly rates.

But the only place that you'll currently get the images of the enumeration books on the www at the moment is www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk .

Hiya Krissy

This looks like them in the 1881 census (from 1881 Census CD's)

Dwelling: 9 Mackays Land
Census Place: Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland
Source: FHL Film 0203698 GRO Ref Volume 652-1 EnumDist 10 Page 10
Marr Age Sex Birthplace
David MORRISON M 36 M Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Head
Occ: Coal Miner
Louisa J. MORRISON M 31 F England
Rel: Wife
Occ: Coal Miners Wife
Cecilia MORRISON 8 F England
Rel: Daur
William J. MORRISON 3 m M Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Son

I also had a look at the David Morrison in Devon (age 30), and he wasnt in the RN, he was an AB on the "Abergrange" a merchant vessel in Plymouth during the census. He was born in Glasgow as you said, but the above looks a bit more convincing as husband and wife were together, with a couple of children too. Do the names of the children ring a bell?

hi stew
your a star and yes the childrens names do look familiar louisa;s mother was celia,(cecilia) william could have been davids father, how brilliant i have searched the english census and as you say there was the naval one but no sign anywhere of louisa jane, will have to get the 91/01 checked now to see where she ended up, as her grandfather was from scotland also.
thankyou again for finding her
hugs
