Hi,

Can anyone help me find James Sime (Blacksmith) married to Isabella ?
I know that their son John was born on 5th May 1843 in Urquhart, Banff, but I can't seem to find their marriage.

The birth record from IGI shows ............

JOHN SIM
Birth: 05 MAY 1843
Christening: 15 MAY 1843 Urquhart, Moray, Scotland

Father: JAMES SIM Family
Mother: ISABELLA SIM

...which leads to the marriage record

JAMES SIM Pedigree
Spouse: ISABEL SIM
Marriage: 27 DEC 1833 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

Both entries are extracts.

Hi Daryl,

Have a look here at the LIBINDX, part of the Moray Local Heritage Centre's website http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp

If you do a People Search for Isabella Sim, year of birth 1801, you'll find an entry for her. Click on the magnifying glass on the right for more info.
Unfortunately, it doesn't give a headstone reference but you'll at least be able to get her death certificate from SP.

I didn't look further for any more of your relatives but it's worth a try as I've had great results from this terrific site.
