Hi

I am contacting this forum in the hope you might be able to shed light on my SCRYMGEOUR side of the family. I don’t know how your research has gone - but this is the limited information I currently have... does this match anything you have discovered? Can you add any further insights? I would be very grateful if you could spare the time to have a look... any advice and assistance would be very warmly received.

I have only gone back as far as a JAMES SCRYMGEOUR (born approx 1820) who married MARGARET WRIGHT.

James and Margaret had at least one son – other children I have yet to trace – called JAMES (born approx 1845) who married MARY ANN HALEY (1844) in 1864, Greenock, Renfrew. They had a number of children, including MARGARET (B 1869) MARY (1867), ISABELLA (1874), JAMES (APPROX 1877) and JULIA (approx 1880)

Margaret 1869 married HENRY MACKIE (1868) in 1890 in Greenock.

They had several children, Martha, Henry, Mary, Annie, Margaret, James. MARTHA is born 1903. It is she who is my paternal great-grandmother, and she went on to marry MATTHEW NEILSON. Who had my gran – MARGARET SCRYMGEOUR NEILSON (born Glasgow). And she married MARK (Jock) WETHERALL.

Can you make any links? Any information, data, photos etc that may help... or maybe some of this information can help you? If so, please get in touch.

Hello Nicola,
I had a look at the BVRI and found James birth in 1845. There was no sign of a marriage for these parents or any other children on these discs.
But it will at least fill in James Jr. Birth and christening dates for your tree.
