Hi everyone, im trying to find the family of my gggrandfather, he arrived to Cañete-Lima in Peru, between 1850 and 1900, my grandmother unfortunally doesn't remember his name because she is very old, but she says he was a very well man with a lot of money, they had a village with horses and servers in Peru. Also in the church of Cañete they inscript his name. He married my gggrandmother called Maria. As we now he never went back to England. Im trying to get more information from Peru so I will update this topic, please if you have any contacts from the Forgan family please let me know.
Thank u
Lorenna

Hi Lorenna with a Warm Welcome to TalkingScot. If you got to Scotlands People we find the following on their free search facility. for the surname Forgan Census 1841- 141
Census 1851- 171
Census 1861- 188
Census 1871 -184
Census 1881- 196
Census 1891- 170
Old Parish Records Births & Christenings 1830 - 1854- 78
Old Parish Records Banns & Marriages 1830 - 1854 -85
Statutory Register Births 1855 - 1900 -246
Statutory Register Marriages 1855 - 1900- 115
Statutory Register Deaths 1855 - 1900- 230
Wills & Testaments 1830 - 1900- 2
Forgan is also the name of a Parish in Fife-near to St.Andrews I think.
I would be tempted to have a look at the 1851-1890 Censuses for any likely Forgans.
Are there any ways of finding documentary info in Peru which may give his name?
Do you know the names of his children?Often Scots named their children in a "pattern" which gives clues to Grandparents eg eldest son is usually named for Father's father.
What type of job did he do? It may also be useful to try searching for his depature from UK on Findmypast which is a pay to view service which has the name of passengers, depature ports, destination ports & others travelling with the same surname.
I am sure that somebody here could offer some help as to how to proceed but without a first name it may not be easy!

Welcome to TalkingScot, Lorenna!
Although Ancestry seems to be heavily involved, I didn't see much else that would help in terms of family history related to Peru - his landing documents or immigration papers might give you more on his origins. That would help find the right person.
