Where are the Ardrossan BLACKs?

Post by q98 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 1:41 am

My grandfather’s sister, Elizabeth (m.s. McCREADIE) BLACK died 16 January 1970 at Kirkhall Gardens (probably #14), Ardrossan, aged 78 years. Her husband John McDougall BLACK was born circa 1894 at Ardrossan and died 3rd Aug 1948 at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow. I am searching for their children and/or their descendants who reside probably in the towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston or the immediate surrounding area.

Fact: David BLACK, born 28th November 1916 at Ardrossan, died 7th August 1991 at Dunedin, New Zealand. Grave located, probably never married.

See Admin note below

I am aware of the “three towns” website on which I have also posted my enquiries.

Any assistance to put me in touch with my extended family would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim,

I'm awfully sorry that I had to edit your post, we can't help you with any living relatives.

You may want to visit Friends Reunited?

Where are the Ardrossan BLACKs?

No sweat Marilyn, rules are rules and we all must abide by them. It is frustrating to believe I have extended family in either of the three towns mentioned but am unable to establish contact. I have gone through the BT phone book and telephoned many Blacks for no result.

Kindest regards.

Hi Jim,

Don't give up hope. Have you tried to post as many messages as possible to try an establish a contact with one of these living relatives? If not, try Ancestry, Worldconnect, Rootsweb, etc. It worked for me, but it took two years for my cousin to find it and contact me. Take my word for it, well worth the wait. Meanwhile, keep up the search and never give up trying.

Marilyn
