How strange Ina as you can see lots of people have been gaining access .Ina wrote:I have not been able to get into the new SP site. Been trying to log in since early this morning Pacific Time, it's now 3:15 Pacific Time and I still get a message saying "site currently unavailable".
Wonder how others have been able to access the site???
Ina

Thanks Jack.
You are correct - it does look better. Less fussy.
Boy oh boy, am I glad I'm not resposible for the SP site! Do they do discount on bulk order contact forms?

I've wandered all through the new SP site and still can't find out how I buy credits to do a search. Can anyone enlighten me as to where the "buy credits" button is??? I'm sure it's staring me in the face........but I can't seem to find it.
I was so used to the old site that it is going to take some time to get used to the new setup.
Regards,
Ina

In case you're still looking for that pesky button....check out the top left corner of the top dark blue header. You'll note letters in white that say BUY MORE next to how many credits you currently have. Click on the buy more and voila you'll be whisked away and frisked of your credit card....

You're not the only one wandering around and feeling a bit lost in the new SP site. Jist as weel they don't make us pay credits for finding out the new layout functions
Jack
Good point about the TS buttons
Mesklin
I have nothing against the Forth Bridge, in fact the colours went well with the new look. It was just the mixture of "the lady with the bag of........." and the bridge that didn't seem right.
Have a good day

Buyers Beware!
I've been playing with the new SP site and have also found quite a few glitches, especially with the Previous Searches. When performing a SI marriage search on a particular surname I have always searched for all males or all females which would result in a semi-colon after the surname indicating that the index was for the females. Now there is no indicator next to the female surname. Also, once you are in the index for a particular female surname, it is no longer listed in alphabetical order by the first name but by the surname of the male, which of course defeats the whole purpose of a female index when you don't know who she married.
When you try and select a particlar page within a search, it defaults back to the first page of that search instead of the one you selected.
The update feature in Timeline is also messed up. If you used any parenthasis or extra spaces when using the description/title feature for an image, they were automatically replaced with hash marks and apostrophies. Before, if you wanted to change anything within the description you could make your edits on numerous images within any particular index page, hit update and all would take affect. Now you have to select each one individually and edit it. After you select update it then kicks you out and defaults back to the first page. Very time consuming and frustrating.
And yes I have sent in a contact for these gremlins. Hopefully it won't take them too long to get them fixed. I have always had a good response from SP whenever I have encountered any sort of problem in the past.
Happy Hunting.....

I had a problem yesterday. I logged in to the SP website and was printing out a couple of things I had saved. I noticed that I had 23 credits left and 53 hours to use them. Later in the afternoon I logged back in to do a bit more searching, but my credit time had run out. I mailed SP and got a nice reply saying it must have been a glitch with the system, and was proably something to do with the changeover. They credited me with 30 free credits and an extra weeks browsing time.
