Thanks Andrew
I am having a Blonde day!!!! And as I am blonde i am allowed to say it.
I am very interested in the OPR Deaths as most of my paternal relatives are from Campbeltown/Southend parishes and i know there is a microfiche detailing deaths until 1854 so to have that online would be superb

The OPRs contain death/burial information for Campbeltown (1773-1854), but none for Southend (unless any are included in the Campbeltown OPRs).David Lang wrote:I am very interested in the OPR Deaths as most my paternal relatives are from Campbeltown/Southend and i know there is a microfiche detailing deaths until 1854 so to have that online would be superb

Perhaps I may find the Donald Macrae father's death I have waited for so long. Did I miss something regarding the estimated time of this, the best yet ?

FrancesBy inference, see item 16 in the minutes, by the end of the year but GROS' track record in meeting such anticipated dates leaves something to be desired, - so be warned!

Hi all
It's not impossible to get the extant OPR deaths just now, although not on SP. Most local reference libraries have those for their own area on microfiche and staff usually will check them for you. Many areas also have been transcribed. For example, Central Scotland Family History Scoiety has transcribed all the existing Death OPRs for the whole of the former Stirlingshire and the hard copies are in Central Reference Library in Stirling. Like everywhere else, there are big gaps (e.g the parish of St Ninians) but what has survived has been done. The staff in Central Library will check as long as they are given names, approximate dates, and parish.
