Hi Everyone
Have just joined this Forum. I was in the old Scottish Peoples forum, but one day when I logged in, it just wasn't there. Am so pleased to have found you again at Talking Scott.
I am still researching Robinson Moore, son of Christopher & Carry Moore nee Robinson of Edinburgh and Agnes Fraser, daughter of James & Elizabeth Fraser nee Smith of Glasgow.
Robinson Moore was listed as a Seaman Merchant Services on his Marriage Certificate. He is listed in the Lloyd's Register of Captains as having obtained his Master's Certificate. He was born 1847 in Edinburgh.
I ordered his papers from the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich hoping to track down the ships he served on. But alas they seemed to have slipped through the cracks of history.
His father Christopher was a Civil Engineer and there the search hits a very large Reinforced Brick wall.
Would love to find out more about his early history and his parents.
Cheers
