Something strange going on

Post by momat » Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:38 am

[help] [alien]
Please don't think I am going crazy but this is strange.
I just went back to check some previous searches I had on Scotland's People and there is one search done on Friday 13th for an unelated name. This was the only search on there for that day.
There was no one home at the time this was searched !!
So if some one was looking for a Death for JOHN O'BRIEN on Friday last I know where he is.
How can this have happened :?: :?:

Hmmm,

I wonder if it was mine? I can't check because I don't have my tree in front of me since yesterday when my computer crashed...but I was most definitely searching for John O'Brien on that day.

So I am not loosing the plot then
But how did it happen :?:
This seems risky to me as it would appear our privacy is insecure !
Can I have an explanation please from someone.

Cheers.

P.S.
Nina I will PM you.

Hi Maureen
That certainly seems a very odd set of circumstances to have occured. Wini's suggestion of sending a contact form seems a sensible idea.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Maureen,

You're not the only one  I've been meaning to address this issue for a while now, but

I have some wills for a Dixon family mixed in with my Timeline on SP and their not mine. My Dixon family were too poor to own the paper they were written on. :(

Hi All

I just looked in SP at my previous searches. There is a blank between April 4, 2007 and April 15, 2007. I am not absolutely certain who I searched for between those dates but I know that I did search. I am wondering what happened to my missing data. [alien]

Regards

Sheila

Momat,

Those names you sent in the PM did definitely come up in my searches along with a number of others (lots of John O'Briens). Weird!

Hello all,
I think this is something we should all be addressing as it affects our Privacy Issues that we are told are so sensitive.
Maybe the Admin on Talking Scot could look at the issue PLEASE.

At least I am not the only one, so hands up all the others who have had this happen .
I can see you all going to your P C and search your files on S P now.

Cheers.
