Well, that's the way I feel. Can anyone point out the 'obvious' that I'm not seeing, because I thought I had made the right contact originally?
Thanks,
Frances

Subject: Results on ScotlandsPeople
Hello:
Last night I searched on ScotlandsPeople for:
Surname: "xxxx"; Use Soundex: Off; Forename: "xxxx"; Sex: "Male";
Year From: 1904; Year To: 1906; District: GORBALS|HUTCHESONTOWN; The
above search produced results for: District: BRIDGETON|HUTCHESONTOWN
Could you please advise why the difference in location occurred? Thank
you,

Good afternoon
Please contact GROS directly with your query at http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/.
This may have been at the time of the record that one area/ district linked to another but as we do not hold the original information here for records and in this case, districts, I am afraid we cannot check that for you.

I have spoken to one of the ScotlandsPeople staff and she has looked at the images you have been viewing. She explained that it was just a glitch in the computer system and that from time to time these blips appear. If you experience any other problems with the ScotlandsPeople website can you please email them direct.
There email address will appear on their website. Thank you.

Hi Frances,
Their answer doesn't seem to be the answer to your question. See if the TalkingScot interpretation of the registration districts enlightens you any further.
