Scotlandspeople Login in

Post by Brian Turnbull » Sat Jul 07, 2007 7:12 am

I am having problems logging on to SP. When I enter my login and password and click login, the sreen comes up as if I have not logged in, so I need to login again and it works second time around. It happens with both IE7 and Firefox. I emailed SP and the reply was that there is nothing wrong their end it must be my end. This problem only began about a month or so ago and I had not had the problem previously. Any suggestions?

Hi Brian,

It might be worth your while to clear your system of cookies and the rest of the "detritus" that surfing can soon build up on your PC.

Click on Tools, Internet Options, on the General tab under the Browsing History, click on Delete. On the box that opens you can either choose to delete all history or only the stuff you want rid of...

Temporary Internet Files
Cookies
History
Form Data
Passwords

The only one I never delete is History as that is where IE gets the list of sites I've been before when I click the Down Arrow on the address bar or start to type in a previous one. (I'm a lazy typist - what can I say).

I can't guarantee this will solve your problem, but it might, and it might also help speed up your surfing.
