Hi Again,

after the help you gave me i thought i would post this picture and see what your opinion of this is :?:

I think the badge on the cap looks the same and i was wondering if it could be the same person, alex, but younger :?:

if so then that would make this photo closer to 1920 or something

what are everyones thoughts :?:

thanks in advance

andy

Could be the same person.

Look at the ears which are as unique as fingerprints.

Never mind that the cap badge, - I'm defintutely awake this time - is indeed the Royal Artillery. Going back to earlier posts in this thread, what amazes me is just how indistinct the field gun is in the middle of the badge.

My pleasure Andy

I thought "removing" the distraction of the tash, was the way to go. Its amazing the difference it makes to a picture :D

I think the fact that the badge is really quite complicated in comparison to some others and that photographic quality wasn't that great back then might be part of the reason for that, David.

Hi there, i have looked at many cap badges for you and i can only find ones that are simular which are Royal Artillery in scotland. Sorry i couldnt be of more help!

Helen

I have tried to enter the URL for an image with this post, not sure if it will work as it is the first time i have done this.

Anyway, if it works i wonder if anyone can identify the badge on this soldiers cap. I dont know anything about him apart from his name is Robert and he was 40 yrs old in 1918 (this is written on the back of the photo).

If anyone can help i would be very grateful

Thanks

Andy
