Hi Ann

I am led to believe that they contain each soldiers complete history while serving with the regiment.
If they are posted out there new regiment will have details depending on how good there regimental history is.

Hi Bruce

I contacted the archives and they gave me a very detailed view of were my ancestor served.

Hi wife Helen Black was the daughter of a solider , on her DC in Old Machar, Aberdeen he is listed as Sergeant Black.

One of Roberts Daughters was christened in Ardeseir in 1808 and one of the witnesses was a Sergeant Black, was Helens father?

The question now is to narrow down who he is!!!
