I don't recall seeing this before, it's an Index of British Fisherman and Merchant Seamen taken Prisoner of War 1914-1918. Most of the men are from England and some from Scotland and other places.

This is an excellent site produced by Marcus Bateman, using records of the Board of Trade held at the NA in Kew under accession number MT9. Wth Marcus's blessing I have used some of his research in my own Ruhleben POW camp website, and Marcus was himself extremely helpful in providing me with the date of my great uncle's internment in the camp, despite the fact that he was even not in the merchant navy! Marcus's site is an invaluable index to many of the merchant seamen who were interned, most of whom were sent to Ruhleben, giving their names, designated position on ship, and address prior to internment; my own site locates other records for those prisoners once there and is free to access at
