Post by djcrtoye » Sat Mar 08, 2008 10:14 pm

Hi if you have any Airdrie rellies who are named on the above memorial I have created a site with the names on it. Please go to http://www.freewebs.com/dt1078 . World War 1 at the moment. Its a bit sparse more information most welcome. Thanks.
Always looking for rellies near and far, especially Toy(e), Berwick, Tobin, Quinn, Gallagher, Pope and Anderson

It does now - I've separated the full stop from the end of the URL.

All the best,

Thanks Andrew :)

Hi djcrtoye,
Good work...it's going to be very helpful for a lot of people! Didn't see any of mine there...I expect that means they survived the war, which is good...just wish I could find them.

Regards,
Anne H

During my research I have come across names that were not included on the memorial for one reason or the other. My next task is to find the rest of the Airdrie dead and include them at a later date.

And if you are left with spare time after that, to go round the churches, and other major public buildings which may have their own war memorials.

A never-ending project?

All the best,

Just to let everybody know I've completed the database today. There are still some names that I have to double check.

There's a few awfully familiar photos on your site :?

A wee mention or acknowledgement to the Scottish War Graves Project would have been nice.
