Uniforms
I would like to find out which branch of the army my uncle served in. He was a male psych. nurse after the war. He used to wear tartan trews as part of his uniform. This is WW11. He enlisted in Aberdeen. Would it have been a medical unit ?? Old Bat.

Hi
Do you know which tartan he wore. That might be a clue. Tartan trews suggest a Scottish Regiment and Aberdeen suggests the Gordons.

Do you have a photo of your uncle in the trews?
Trews suggest a Lowland regiment rather than Highland even if he enlisted in Aberdeen but soldiers in Highland regiments did wear trews sometimes. I haven't heard of any Scots medical units wearing trews.
Without any extra information though it could be any one of the ten Scottish Infantry regiments in WW2.
