I have put this link up as it may mean something to someone and I think it is important to try and find the owner of the documents.

Hello Annie,

Re the Army Certificate.

On the WW1 Medal Rolls there are only ten by the name of Joseph Randles and only two Gunners, both in the Royal Garrison Artillery. They have Regimental Nos. 150365 and 186191.

If he was disabled in the Great War maybe he received a pension. There’s a Joseph Randles 150365 in Ancestry’s WW1 Pension records. I don’t have Ancestry access.

Maybe his age etc will match to a number of possibilities on Genes Reunited or whatever.

Thanks Annette,

The discharge date doesn’t match and I suppose it’s unlikely he would have gone into the reserves if he was disabled during the course of the war as the newspaper story seems to suggest he was. 150365 doesn’t look to be the same fellow.

All the best,
Alan
