Re: Croix de Guerre
Doing a Google on ' "croix de guerre" "UK recipients" wwII ' only produces a small number of hits, but I suspect that the use of French as opposed to English might help the search, - as, BTW, might well the name of your ancestor.GailMc wrote:I have recently discovered that my great uncle won the Croix de Guerre in WW2 Any ideas on how I can get more info? Hello GailMc
If you put Croix de Guerre in the word or phrase box on here http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp it brings back quite a bit although im not sure how much will be of use as i havnt gone through it all. Im not sure if your looking for information on the medal or the man that recieved it

Thanks Tracey - It is information about what he did to deserve the medal that I am interested in but I will keep the web site in mind as it seems a good on to search on for various things
