Post by Barclay » Wed Mar 01, 2006 2:50 pm

Who are the 2nd Battalion 2nd Regiment in 1867?

I am looking for info on John Wilson who stated on his wedding certificate that he was a Private in the regiment

The 2nd Regiment of Foot were The Queen's Royal Regiment.

The 2nd Regiment of Foot (Guards) were The Coldstream Guards.

And then there were the cavalry, - The Life Guards (2nd), Dragoon Guards (2nd Dragoon Guards or Queen's Bays Regiment), and Dragoons/Hussars/Lancers (2nd Royal North British Dragoons [Scots Greys])....... except that they didn't have privates as such, but troopers ........
