Post by jontodd » Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:56 pm

I'm trying to trace info on 528 Sqn RASC (V) (now 221 Sqn RLC (V) ) who where based in Yorkhill, Glasgow. I believe they where part of the 52nd Lowland Div during WW2
ANY INFO would be appreciated

The site that you found appears to refer to the RAMC, Royal Army Medical Corps. It's the RASC, - Royal Army Service Corps that's involved here.....

528 Sqn RASC is referred to in http://orbat.com/site/history/historica ... e1940.html

http://www.ww2talk.com/lofiversion/index.php/f24.html shows "528, 530, 574 Sqn Rasc 52nd Lowland Div" but the site wasn't available when I Googled.

Searching on "52nd Lowland Division" produces many hits such as
http://houterman.htmlplanet.com/52InfDiv.html but the order of battle doesn't give RASC units.

Thanks for the info so far, I will chase up these leads. What I'm looking for is where this unit served during WW2 and what its roll was in between the wars. Also any pics of the drill halls at Yorkhill Parade
