Hi Karen

Records of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) before it was amalgamated into the RAF in 1918, and for a few years after that are kept at The National Archives at Kew.

For later records of RAF personnel you need to contact the following, but you need to be the next-of-kin:

RAF Service Records
Personnel Management Agency
(CS)2A(2)
RAF Innsworth
Gloucester GL3 1EZ
England

Note that it's the RN who hold records of the Fleet Air Arm, and I think that it will be TNA for the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) records from WW1.

The Commonwealth Graves Commission site might also be of help.
