Regiment Identification - Please Help!

I was wondering if anybody could help me identify the regiment in the photo:

So far I have had no success.

I believe it to be Hugh Gallacher, born about 1866 in Glasgow. The rear of the photo shows the photographers studio to be in Ahmednagar, India.

Unfortunately, the pattern of the tartan hasn't come out in the photograph, but, even so, I'd be 99% certain it's the Seaforth Highlanders, - see http://www.btinternet.com/~james.mckay/disp_021.htm for comparison, - cuffs, sporran badge, jacket pockets, general sporran design.

Both the 1st and 2nd battalions were in India at times that would match his age http://www.regiments.org/deploy/uk/reg-inf/072-1.htm , and http://www.regiments.org/deploy/uk/reg-inf/072-1.htm , but with the 2nd Bn being the more likely, I'd believe.
