Scots in South Africa

Post by Rodeo » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:01 pm

Is anyone undertaking specific research into expatriate Scots in South Africa following the signing of the Treaty of Vereeniging in 1902? I am particuarly interested in William Paterson (b 1878, Hamilton, Scotland), my great uncle, who died in Broomlands, Belthlehem, Orange River Colony (Orange Free State) in 1908.

I'd be extremely grateful for any help.

Cheers,

Linda

Hi Linda:

You might also want to post your query to the AFRICA forum, where members will be more familiar with the ins and outs of research and records in the Orange Free State.
