Hi Guy's thanks for that,so much.From an innocent enough post on the 22nd of this month,to Alex Leburn,Dance Master,Violinist,Writer of sheet music,Druggist,Philosopher,Mathematician and Baillie for Auchtermuchty. What a Guy!I have contacted Rose on Rootsweb who is also looking for him ,so we'll see what comes from that.So much to do and not a clue where to start,Brilliant stuff,Thanks Again,David

There is no saying what these dancing masters could get up to. My husband has an ancestor who was a dancing master in Salisbury at the beginning of the 18th Century. At one point his wife wrote to a local dignitary to demand "can this creatur be put in the Winchester Bridewell for her exposure of Mr Corfe" and it makes me wonder what he had been doing for a female to have been able to expose him!!

Hi Anne,was that a job or what. I just don't get Alex Leburn,on top of all his other expertees,i forgot to mention that he invented the "Leburn Square" and he was an astronomer.Every single one of his skills was a lifetime profession to most people and i can't regard any of them being just a hobby.Druggist,a hobby naah!So it is difficult to understand where he got the time,he was also a father to four children.I downloaded a copy of Alexander Leburn's Will tonight,and he was not a wealthy man by any manner of means,he left £146.4s,4p.I suppose, i was hoping that he would have left something to his first Son William,Mother Janet Watson.That would finally nailed,Alex Leburn to Janet. I am unsure if the Kirk Session reports of the time can be accurate,Alex did after all deny pre nuptual fornication.I remembered tonight,why i dismissed Alex Leburn as being,William's Father 30 years ago,because after printing off William's death cert again tonight 17th June 1874,his Father is,William Watson,Master Baker.I am not sure,but i think that,Janet and William shared the same surname,Watson.Was William the real Father? or was he a Brother or Father of convenience?Because at some stage,i know not when,Janet,Isabella (her sister?) and young William moved from Auchtermuchty in Fife to Burntisland in Fife a distance of about 20 miles or so.Did they leave for work opportunities,or was Auchtermuchty too small a village for Alex and his new paramour Lilias Morrison (to whom he had three children) and my Gr Gr Gr Granny Janet Watson.I will probably never know the answers to most of these questions and that is what makes this hobby sometimes,I was going to conclude with,but hey,nobody died,on second thoughts,thanks for listening,David
