mcnab row .....

Post by margaretmccue » Wed Jul 26, 2006 8:52 pm

Hello all. I have been looking at other family history sites, and I saw one that really took my interest. a lady is looking for Mcnab Row. in Drumpark old Monkland where one of her relatives died. in 1875.
My interest is because my grandfather Robert Mcnab was born there.in
1865. [no claim to fame] just curious, so Ive been looking on scottish mining villages. I noticed quite a few with such names, but no Mcnab
however it has roused my interest, because most of my paternal family
were miners.I have managed to find out a lot about the way they lived.
has any one else heard of this place. cheers margaretx [-X

Hi
I have never heard of a McNab Row
I asked a few Coatbrig' rellies if the had ever heard of it, but none of them could recall it either.
My own Watson family, were in Drumpark in the early 1870's
Working in several different pits in the area.
Bargeddie, Baiillieston, Easterhouse, Dalserf and Blantyre.
Most of them ironstone miners
