I believe that I may have a relative who played for Queen's Park in the 1915 and 1916 seasons. I have found a McConnachy on the score sheet for Queen's Park in both seasons -

I have written to the Secretary of Queen's Park to see if I can find more information on the player eg DoB, where he was from and maybe even a photo but no response yet.
Any other ideas to track down a possible football relative?

Hello Justin

So..good luck !

Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings

Have you both tried the SFA, the football governing body in Scotland. They might have the information you require.

Remember that it's an amateur club, so the secretary and others are probably volunteers.
Another connected problem in terms of the amateur aspect is that an awful lots of amateurs had a trial for the club, or played just a few matches.
You might be better to Google for one of the many histories of the club that I'm sure exist, and see if you can track down a copy.

Have a look at
http://www.qpfc.com/pastplayers.html
who list an FJ McConnachie playing between 1915 and 1917 making 10 appearances for the club

McConachy actually, and the 10 is league appearances, - he also played in 3 cup matches.
And scored 3 goals
