Hi Anne,

Your link to the Google FAQ's really does have a lot of information concerning public domain and Google. Anyone with questions needs to take the time to read this one. The link is in the post two or three before this one.

For the USA, Google considers anything published in 1923 or after to be copyright protected so it should be ok to download and send on this one as long as you're not doing it for commercial reasons as Alan said.

I'd copy it, but in their infinite wisdom MS apparently decided that anyone with Vista Home would never need to SEND a pdf so unless I subscribe to Adobe Acrobat for more money, all I can do is read pdf's! [sigh]

Hi Anne,

I appreciate why you would prefer not to forward on PDFs - I wouldn't want anyone to get the jail!

I'll have a look for the book in Airdrie instead, as I live fairly near.

Thanks for highlighting the book, as I doubt I would've found it otherwise!

Best wishes,

Brian

Hi Brian,

I actually emailed the Airdrie Library the other day to see what kind of response I would get, but alas, no response as yet, and while I don't think it should be under copyright protection, I'd prefer to be sure before sending any PDF's out.

Thanks for understanding :)

Regards,
Anne H
