Hi folks,
I've edited this to add census details.
Michael & Unity were as KENNY in 1861 - they are at the same address as where Andy found them in 1881.
They've got a son John born abt 1853, and now we know of a son Patrick born 1856 too.
Andy, how right you are on ages being way out....!

Hi bibby, could you give me any info you have, which you think may relate to the Kelly family. All being well, I will be at Park Circus next week and hope to make some headway with this family. Though I have yet to confirm any siblings for John, I do have details of six of his children.

Hope to hear from

Hi Andy and Jack, thanks for the info, but now I really am confused!!

I will be going to Park Circus next week, and will have another look for any info to confirm or deny, what you have mentioned.

I will need to digest all the census contradictions and try to make sense of them. Unity's death cert shows her as only 56 in 1884, but her son John reported the death, so possible he did not know her real age. Will look for entries under Kenny to find possible birth entries for this family.

Her son's address at marriage, in 1876, was 30 Stobcross Street, which agrees with 1881 census for Michael and Unity though ages do not seem right.

Thanks for your help. I will be in touch.

Is it true, that if you have high blood pressure and fluid prevention, you will have boiling water????

 Not sure about that Anne. We may have to have Russell's input on the medical side of the question, but it would be handy for a cup o' tea on the go

Re Buchan Street

Hi Bibby,
You'll notice John Kelly's birthplace said Buchan, Glasgow, SS - this means South Side (of river Clyde).
Buchan Street was at the eastern end of Norfolk St, it ran north towards Carlton Place.
It was just to the west of Gorbals Cross.
But seems it's disappeared in the last 10yrs or so - probably due to re-development.
Jack
ps, aren't those Poor Relief records just great!
