C:\Documents and Settings\your-login-name\Local Settings\

Microsoft\Outlook Express

All of your Outlook Express folders ought to be in that directory, by the time you've inserted your login name. These will be named of the style: folder-name.dbx. These can be copied from there to another disk if you have any plans to Format C, or anything of the like.
Hi Andrew
Still in the dark ages with ME edition. Daughter went off to college with brandy new lap top with bells and whistles and I got stuck with her dinosaur. The sacrifices we make. I can find the files just ducky....but can't move them to a disk and at the moment I can't recall just what the error message was but it said NO! I did copy them to a folder on the desktop but lot of good that did! Still can't figure out what happened to lose that Msoe.dll file. Actually the file is there is just can't load it. I'm a scaretycat to uninstall Outlook Express and try reinstalling. Don't want to make matters worse. Didn't get to the computer clinic today but am going in the a.m.

Similarly, your address book is at:
C:\Documents and Settings\your-login-name\Application Data\
Microsoft\Address Book

It will be there as a file: your-e-mail-name.wab

For older versions of Windows, the file locations are less complex, but I cannot recall them just now, but could be found by a search for .dbx and .wab files.

Thanks for the advice. Live and learn the hard way...always been my motto!!!

Jeanbean

a nice little program called Qurb does a good job at trapping all these little nasty gremlins. Is free to try and worth a shot to see if it helps

AIM on Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 2?)

No problem loading AIM. I have my PC set up to look like Windows 2000.
Did you tick the little 'I agree' boxes?

XP looks

I personally hate the XP look. It seems to be silver or worse. You can set it up to look like 'Classic' Windows (which I used for several years, namely Win2000.)
Then you can choose all the wonderful colour choices, like 'Eggplant', or in my case, a custom version of 'Wheat'. I find blue and grey truly depressing.
As a therapist, I use Luscher Colour Test (In process of writing software version). Blue and grey not good.
