You need to go to Scotlands People ( www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ) You will need to register to be able to search and it is a per pay view site. Searching is free, but to see the original marriage entry you will need to buy some credits, minimum amount being £6's worth. If used wisely & carefully you can see the results of 5 searches and five images for that amount, so take yuur time! But am still a bit muddled as to finding her marriage on ScotsPeople
Viewing the original marriage entry should give you some new information and confirm some of the things you already know.
Makes no difference how far from home she was living, she would still be asked for the names of her parents.Sinclair was about 26 when she married, and was probably working around Edinburgh district......would this mean that she did'nt need to have the parents' name on her marriage certificate?
If a change needed to be made to a birth (or marriage or death) the entry was made in the Register of Corrected Entries. Can someone please tell me what an 'RCE stamp'is on a birth certificate?
Best wishes
