I'm sure there are many more possibilities, but, I've come across (in different families) a midwife's name used as a middle name for the child she delivered.

My GGGreat Grandparents named their only girl Janet Liddel Scott after her Step-Mother Janet Veitch nee Liddell.They lived with them after their marriage & she must have been a special woman to have this honour-I would have expected her late Mother Ann to have this honour.
