Hi Jean & John
I have tried twice now to upload the image to the gallery but for some reason my server will not allow it. Sorry

Hi Karen,
Have you checked the R.C baptism records for the areas in which the parents were living? I found several of one of my families in the actual book at the local area archives. They, like yours, were later married in the Presbyterian church. Just a thought!

RC Baptisms

Hi Rae
I hadn't really thought that I would be able to search those records. Unfortunately for me, if the records are not online then I have no access to them. One of the stranger aspects of the marriage is that every one of the children were married protestant and their children were all christened Presbyterian as well as Anne McAdam had declared herself as Protestant on several documents. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see what you mean - you are a bit far away to look up these registers personally! I wonder, if they were baptised whether this would have been at the church where the parents married. Perhaps someone else could come up with a solution for you.

Annie was actually from Ayr and her first child was born in Ayr and then all the rest of the children were born in other towns, they moved around a fair bit. James Davidson doesn't appear to be from Girvan either so I don't know how they ended up getting married there. The other thing is that the marriage rules for Catholics at that time were very strict and Annie would have had at least a year in instruction before she could marry Catholic. Very puzzling to say the least.
