Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church. The record often shows the name of the individual and his or her relationship to a descendant, shown as the heir, family representative, or relative. The original records are not indexed, and you may have to look at the film frame-by-frame to find the information you want. A family group record for this couple may be in the Family Group Record Collection; Archive Section. (See the Family History Library Catalog for the film number.) These records are alphabetical by name of the father or husband.

Hello Jan,

I hate hearing stories about people losing data from their computer. You’ll have me tossing and turning all night just thinking about it.

It’s absolutely VITAL that you keep a second copy of the important stuff on your computer. Keep your important Family History in a separate folder on your computer so that you can easily copy it to a CD or DVD or a USB Flash Drive every so often. That’s the simplest form of backup and is vastly better than nothing at all. I don’t know what you use the external drive for but make some room on the main computer drive for your family history and other important stuff so you have a copy there as well.

If you lost data yesterday the same thing could happen tomorrow.

All the best,
Alan

hi Alan
i have it all on my external , when the guy from Comet came , i had unplugged my external , and sort of moved over to let him in to my pc as it was an opticle drive he was replacing ,and when i had a new hard drive replaced after a few weeks , they had to put on new windows , when they done this , the replaced it with XP , so when i needed the new opticle drive , they wouldnt replace it as they said i had tampered with the pc as my pc should be Vista , so my warrenty wouldnt cover any of it , so after a fight with head office and copies of repairs they decided yes they had replaced my windows Vista with XP , so when this guy came , and he was putting my keyboard and mouse back on didnt he put the usb connection into the slots , and he wiped the lot , i wasnt in the room , so this is how it happened , after me telling the guy this was my external , i should have moved it away , but didnt think he would touch it , lesson learnt , just trying to get into SP now as the password has just came , lets hope i can find the ones i want this time ,
isnt not been a cheap hobby this

got it back and our Duncan Stewart died 1866 at 45 Castle Street Glasow
parents John and Isabella m/s Hislop , he is down as age 70 , making him born around 1796 ?
his Daughter Isabella singed she was still single as didnt marry till 1869 aged 32 ,she lived at 10 Mason Street , and Husband Arcibald Crawford had been married to a Susan ? before that , she would have been the Mother to Archibald aged 10 on the census , which is about right as my Sister recalls our Mum having an Uncle Archi sort of back to square one ,
 copies not only in a folder on C drive and external , they are on a USB drive as well hidden out of sight lol,
now we need to wait on 1911 census , to get a little more help
