Hi Tracey,
I see you have been converted  Welcome to Mac land (sounds a lot more Scottish than PC land)

I use Reunion as my family tree program and like it very much. They also have excellent support and a very active forum to discuss things and ask questions about the program. And they now have an iphone app as well :-

You could always download the demo and see what you think of the organization and look.

[cheers]
Sarah

Hello Sarah

I did look at Reunion but saw that it had issues with Snow Leopard so was saving downloading and installing that for a lesson or Genius Bar and as far as software goes MacFamily Tree is not expensive and i couldnt wait.............. :- unless its totally Mac i am a bit scared at this point to install anything.
I have also got many files that wont open so will take my old pc in and let them do it.
But all in all i am glad i made the choice  :D

I've been using Reunion since about 1992 (and Macintosh computers since 1988 when I bought my first one...)

I'm not aware of any issues between Reunion and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - it runs fine on my MacBook. See

Is Reunion 9 compatible with Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6)?

Yes, if you are using the latest revision of Reunion 9.

On August 28, 2009 Apple began delivering Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" which introduced a few incompatibilities with Reunion 9.

To address these incompatibilities, we quickly released a free update for Reunion 9 users which contained other minor improvements and fixes, as well as revisions to the manual.

If you have already installed Snow Leopard, you should not run Reunion until you download and install the latest revision, which is currently Reunion 9.0b. Or, if you haven't yet installed Snow Leopard and you need to use Reunion, we urge you to delay the installation of Snow Leopard until you download and install the latest revision, Reunion 9.0b

We recommend that you download and install the Reunion 9.0b free maintenance update, no matter what version of Reunion 9 you are using (9.01 through 9.0a) and regardless of what version of Mac OS X you are using.

The free maintenance update is available for download here.

If you have questions about Snow Leopard, please visit Apple's Web Site.

Note: Prior to Apple's release of Snow Leopard, we attempted to notify ALL registered users about the upcoming OS release and it's incompatibility with Reunion 9. If you did not receive an email notification, please make sure you have registered your purchase of Reunion 9 (if you purchased directly from us, you are registered). If your email address has changed, please let us know by sending an email to help@LeisterPro.com with your old and new email addresses.

i decided to wait till i am at the Apple store to download and install it

Most of the above is not really relevant if you've recently purchased a new Macintosh, and have not yet installed Reunion 9 on it. The demo of Reunion 9 will be the latest version 9.0b that is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard -ie you will not need to update it before you can use it - it's ready to go.
