hahaha Lesley, funny you mentoned that cause i just did before even looking at your post haha 23 december 1827 barony, lanark, scotland

seems my other post hasnt worked i have clicked to view all six births for wlater and isabella and here they are

1833 Jean Alison
1835 William Alison*
1837 Mathew Alison
1840 Mathew Alison (maybe the 1837 Mathew died young and named the second child Mathew)
1843 Helen Alison
1845 Margaret Alison

:D these are the 6 children of Walter Allison and Isabella Gilmour :D but i really want Williams death cert
i just looked up the 1851 census for isabella on familysearch like nelmit told em and i found her with the children and the 1837 mathew must have died because he isnt there and isabella is head of the famiy so we no walter has died between 1845-1851 but i cant find his death cert and infact i do have williams death cert and he must of remarried again between 1869-1876 to eliza love now :D so i have now found everything about william and his first wife now i think iwill aim for his second wife and if i cane find her then walter his afther but could someone maybe help me find him cause i am struggling with him

Hi Gary,

The family you found in 1851 is that of Walter Allison and Isabella Miller

Here is Isabella Gilmour/Al(l)ison and family 1851 at Kilbarchan from FREECEN -

Piece: SCT1851/568 Place: Kilbarchan -Renfrewshire Enumeration District: 7
Civil Parish: Kilbarchan Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: -
Folio: 448 Page: 21 Schedule: 82
Address: King's Land, Bridge Of Weir

Surname First name(s) Rel Status Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
ALISON Isabella Head W F 42 Silk Sewer Lanarkshire - West Holm
ALISON Jean Dau U F 18 Cotton Mill Worker Renfrewshire - Lochwinnoch
ALISON William Son U M 15 Cotton Mill Worker Renfrewshire - Lochwinnoch
ALISON Mathew Son - M 11 Cotton Mill Worker Renfrewshire - Lochwinnoch
ALISON Helen Dau - F 8 Scholar Renfrewshire - Lochwinnoch
ALISON Margt Dau - F 6 Renfrewshire - Lochwinnoch

I'm pretty sure this is Isabella and Walter ( at the moment I can't locate William and Matthew) in 1841 -

Piece: SCT1841/651 Place: New Monkland -Lanarkshire Enumeration District: 7
Civil Parish: New Monkland Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: Airdrie
Folio: 10 Page: 26
Address: Graham Street

Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
CAMPBELL William M 27 Stone Mason Lanarkshire
CAMPBELL Marget F 23 Lanarkshire
CAMPBELL Helen F 1 Lanarkshire
ALISON Walter M 40 Agricultural Labourer Outside Census County (1841)
ALISON Isobella F 32 Lanarkshire

ALISON Jean F 9 Outside Census County (1841)
GILMOUR Andrew M 20 Coal Miner Lanarkshire

Isabella is a widow in 1851 so it looks like Walter died sometime between 1844 - 1851.

I'll put my thoughts on William's death in another post.

Regards,
Annette

there is a birth for a walter allison between 1800-1802 but it hink it was 1801 in renfrewshire so that might give a bit of help i havent looked at it but that the only one and if u subract his age from the 1841 census it adds up to it :) and just to add William Allison did marry twice to Eliza love in 1871 probably just after the 1871 census was takin

garydevine1995 wrote:back again with great news :) h it is his death cert in 1876 his mother isabella gilmour and his father walter allison but the most strange thing ever is on it he is married to elign? love when he should be married to margaret docherty/dougherty and his son walter signed it(my great great grandfather). also i found the right isabella too married to walter allison and her daughter janet signed it she died in 1879 but on williams death cert it says both of his parents are dead :/ i am so confused just found a death cert for a walter allison and it came up 1885 and his wife was isabella miller
William Allison, widower and son of Walter Allison and Isabella Gilmour married Eliza Love in October 1871.

On his death entry it should give Mary Docherty's name too. Have another look.

npe just eliza name and thats all but still defo him both his parents names on it :D dunno why the never added margarets. on williams and eliza marriage cert i no he was 36 but to me she looks 16 but i know that cant be right but hse has a long name then near the end it says 'the' and then another word begining with k and it squashes the age so i cant make it out but the second didget is a 6
