You are going great guns there. The Royal Navy did all sorts of things during WW1 and in earlier wars.
The Drake Battalion of the Royal Naval Division fought and died in the trenches of Gallipoli and the Western Front.

Hi again thanks for the posts alan i am pretty sure its him everything seems to add up and i now know my 2nd cousin has a few things on him so hopefully he might have a copy og this letter. fingers crossed
. thanks andrew i did find that one but didnt really give any evidence to tell me it could be him so i just ignored that one but it ties in with the CWGC website too
