Thanks Joette - yes I have tried searching under her maiden name (Tait) - too, with no joy.

I think I have tried all combinations of the names, married or maiden; using the first name Jean and using no first name - and still can't find the birth.

I wish Scotland's People would let you search for births using the parents names. it would be so useful to track down all the children who sadly were born and died between censuses!

I've also had a good rummage round and can find neither a birth nor a death. Must be another tack to take but can't think what at the moment.
