Thanks for that Jack, hope the others appear somewhere.
We are planning a Visit to Scotland around June next year and would be nice if there was still a relative over there somewhere

Ann Glass remarried a Alexander Hepburn 17/9/1855 and was able to get a Certificate from SP.
On the Certificate it states that 3 children are dead and one alive, which is why only Duncan appears on the 1851 Census.
Is there a way of finding out about the deaths of the other three children??

Hi John

My Grandmothers maiden name was Helen Glass born 15/4/1910 Father Gilbert and mother Mary Walls. Do any of these names come into your tree.

Hi Helen,
Unfortunately, none of those names have appeared as yet.
It is probably unlikely,as apart from my GG who came to Australia in 1856 it
is looking like the remainder of the male line(5) all died quite young, under 20
I am hoping to discover what happened.

Hi John

Just joined this site and asked to look you up by Nina.

Having looked at your research details I don't think there is a link between our families. My Glass family came from Newburgh in Fife and whent to Dundee before ending up hear in Glasgow. I know there are a few Glass's in Glasgow. I have come across some in Drumchapel and others in the East End.

They may be related to your family. Unfortunately I have not got details on them but know of a way to make contact if you want any help prior to your visit.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the contact.
We have three Alex's in our line, but unfortunately I think you are right.
A short time ago I had five possible male relatives to track down, now I am down to just one,Duncan Glass B 14/11/1846.
He last appears with his mother on the 1861 Census in New Ardrossan,Ayr as 14 and a Law Clerk Apprentice then I can find nothing else.

William and Agnes (Nee McFarlane) Glass were my great, great, great grandparents. Their grandson David Fleming lived with Agnes at 53 Main Street and worked in her grocers. I think he was Janet's son and his father was a Fleming but havent traced this yet, can anyone fill in the gap
