Hi Tracey,

well i had someone who i knew had been in the canadian expeditionary force as we have letters which he wrote to family at the time.

we had his death date and things so this was an added bonus!

I had a look at this and I think his trade or calling was "Teamster",

I think this meant he was involved with the transportation industry, but I stand to be corrected on that.

My husband tells me teamsters were drivers either of a team of horses or later trucks.

I know exactly how you feel. It is always a bit of an eureka moment when you get a step closer to finding more about a person. Mine are coming less and less at the moment as I have got quite far back with some and the others will be more than $\:D/$ EUREKA $\:D/$ if I can ever figure them out!
Well done at even trying to put something into quotes. I have never given it a shot but am sure that once I try and succeed I will be using it willy, nilly!
When I looked at James's A.P.'s I, like yourself, couldn't make out what it said. I think Barbara is right. Some people just have the knack.

thanks again for the tip - I've haven't had a eureka moment for ages but in the last week or two I've made lprogress on 2 or 3 fronts. Also thanks to FIBIS for other help with long losts in India. It seems to go that way - nothing for ages and then you get a few bits together - usually with help from this board, I must say.
