The Mitchell has great resources for anyone who has ancestors who lived in Glasgow. If you know the street they lived in 1901 then you can scroll through the census film to locate them for free.
You can see the kind of records they keep by looking at thearchive section of the website.
I can see your James & Catherine on the 1881 census but cannot find a marriage or a birth for Thomas. Have you found these on Scotlands People?
Kind regards,
Annette M

Hello Maggieuk
sorry i should have posted this before now
James & Catherine don't appear in my tree unfortunatly
I have a James Mcnaught who died in 1887 but he was an only child and i know what became of him and his decendants .James' father did have a couple of male siblings but so far i have no knowledge of them.
You are definitly in the right place (Talkingscot) to gain help with your research I'm only sorry that i myself can't be of any .
all the very best
kind regards maggie

McNaught
Hi, this is my first post to this forum, and I was interested to see the name James McNaught. I have a James who married Margaret Darroch. Their daughter Margaret married my grandfather Archibald Leitch in 1880. Any connection?

I noticed you are looking for Blair, no relation but my father worked for Blair, a butcher, in Greenock in the early 1920's.
Good night from me,
Trampinggran
Who knows? Could be the same family. Mine originated in Kilmacolm and have spread out all over the area, Greenock included. However my main branches are in Paisley.
