I had a quick search of the birth indexes on Scotland's People (http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk) & found an
Edward RUST(1899)
William RUST(1900)
George RUST(1898)
Jessie RUST(1900)
registered in Aberdeenshire between 1899 & 1900 (also a George in 1904).

Unfortunately I have no credits at present to check them out and they may not be connected, but they might be worth a look - one of them might be yours!
