Thanks once more, Ted, for the medical help.
Now I know there was a purpose that no-one put a name on the photo as it gave me something else to get my teeth into!
I am still on a high with this find and must mail it to my cousin who probably doesn't even know the photo exists.

Just another little bit of information from the other forum - the bandolier means that he was in the Mounted Engineers. Again this fits in with his attestation papers - 'What is your Trade or Calling?' His answer was 'Horseman'.
