Lol I just realised I reapeated most of myself. I feel kind of like a goldfish with a 3sec memory  .

I may indeed contact Peter Stubbs for more information if possible. :)

One of the few photographs I have of my Scottish grandparents together was taken Edinburgh around 1918 and sent with Christmas greetings from both of them -- but they didn't marry until 1924 in Toronto.

I'm guessing such a gap is unusual but I'm guessing that engagements might have been a time that a couple would have had a photo taken.

Hi
I see that both are wearing some type of locket or medallion round their neck, do you know what kind of work they did (if it is who you think they are) could it be some prize or award?

Hi Andy
I guess your memory is suffering from overuse building up to your exams and is just saying 'Enough is enough !'

Looking at the photo, both the ladies look as though they were early twenties but their fashion/styles were probably a bit out of date by the time they reached Dunfermline. I tried to match up styles from
http://www.tudorlinks.com/treasury/index.html and it looked as though the dress and accessory styles were 1870's so, reckoning they were provincial girls, I dated it at the start of the 1880's.

Its a great photo though even if you never get an answer as to who they are :D
