Hi Jean & Tracey,
When I read Tracey's reply, Steve Martin & John Candy's movie came to mind
"Planes, Trains and Automobiles"

Tracey can you pm either Jean or I the dates you'll be in New York?
Jean we could meet in Boston and take a train to New York? I always wanted to go to Manhattan and stand on the same soil as Matthew Morning
my gg gf, stood on when he sailed into Castle Garden on 8 May 1883.

Hi Jean,
OK here's the plan
1. We ditch our husbands for the weekend
2. You get Friday off from work and take a bus to Alison's for the night.
3. We meet at the train depot in Boston on Saturday
4. To arrive in NY by 11 am?
5. Meet Tracey for lunch and a quick color. She promised me a purple color long ago.

Oh and I think you would look really foxie as a blonde, even for a few months.
6. We then hit the Statute Of Liberty, Ellis Island and a quick trip over to Castle Garden. Catch the 5pm train home and land in Boston around 7pm give or take a few hours, depending on traffic?? Alison can pick you up and I'll drive home? We can do it, I know we can, we'll just have to take our extra vitamins for the day!
Regards
Marilyn

Sorry ladies but the only colour on offer this time will be on canvas - mostly, and not of my doing

Scotland - Donaldson / Moggach / Shaw / Geddes / Sim / Gray / Mackie / Richards / Joel / Coull / Mckimmie / Panton / McGregor
Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings

Unless of course Allison would like to ditch Josh and join us for the day...(

) but taking the T from South Station to points south is easier......all day parking at Wollaston is only $3

Hi Jean,
I need to double check

but I'm pretty sure the train from Boston, would be making a stop in North Kingstown, RI only a few miles away from me.
Oh that would be super if Alison joined us, she's such a nice young lady (must take after her dad)

Hello Jean,
I checked Amtrack's schedule tonight and it seems the train arrives into Penn Station in NY approx. 1 pm on the 16th of June, are you getting the same ETA? So much for the hour long journey, it takes over 3 hours, ha.
Regards

Hi Jean,
I just called Amtrack and here's the update
First my husband suggested I use my AARP card for a discounted fare (that he was kind enough to apply for me last year, oh he's thinks he's so funny) They don't accept AARP, but they discount the fare by 10% with our AAA membership (American Automobile Association)
A roundtrip coach fare would be $97.20
Regards
Marilyn
