Crichton

To emanday,

I just noticed that you have the name Crichton in your list of names at the bottom of your posts. My grandfather's nephew George Still married Charlotte Wilson Crichtion in Aberdeen on 17 Oct. 1890. Same family as yours?

Hi Carol,

My Crichtons seem to have originated in the Ayrshire area before my Great Grandfather came to Glasgow.

What were Charlotte's parents names?

Her father was James Crichton--mason and her mother was Christina Harper Crichton. Both were deceased at the time of the wedding. One of the witnesses was also James Crichton, a brother maybe?

I can really sympathise, my system froze then crashed and I had to have a new xp installed. Fortunately, all family files were backed up elsewhere this time so I thought there's nothing else on there to concern me , until that is a moment ago.
Daughter no 1 summonned me to the machine "Where's my CV" (she hadn't looked at it in over a year).
Panic she had been having a clear out (finally decided to move into her own pad) and thought she'd thrown out her back up. However the clear out was from her desk drawer to a rubbish bag, fortunately it was still in her room and hadn't gone in the big wheelie. Fiingers crossed it will work on this system.
Hope you get up and running soon and not away to long
Good luck
Bertha
