We are traveling by train. Amtrack has a coach fare or business class.

In the UK, if you tell someone you're travelling coach, they will assume that you mean bus..........................

Coach equates to economy class.

Manhattan is a 2 hour drive plus a 25 minute ferry ride away........

Hi folks

First off...yup Marilyn I looked online at Amtrak last night and saw the choices and the LONG time it takes to go from Beantown to the Big Apple. .....What will we do to entertain ourselves???

But then we'd have to hit the ground running to fit in much in NYC cause I think the last train out is not that late....or there is one at like 3:15am next morning if we wanted to pull an all-nighter and snooze for the 4 hour ride north

......hmmm...will have to think that over twice!

I think we have to do this somehow someway!! And now If BJ comes to join in....yup......it's going to be our second East Coast Event $\:D/$ !! I can feel a party coming on!!!

Coach is bus lingo over here too......also a very high end purse !

) which we may just be looking for on 5th Avenue or some such

PS....Sadly I too will be qualifying for the AARP by June but it doesn't look like it will help in this situation...

Triple A I already got!! Will consult with Ally and see if she's up for another tour with the old lady

I avoid driving in Manhattan, as much as possible (but that's as much that I want to avoid parking -- and parking fees!). But I drive in Brooklyn and on Staten Island frequently -- they are no worse than driving here in Philadelphia

So my standard way to get to Mahattan is to drive to the Staten Island ferry terminal, park ($6 all day....), take the ferry (free) to Manattan, then get an all-day unlimited use pass for the subway for $7.

The DC beltway - now, that's another story. I dread that..... but it is the best way to get to my brother's, where I can stay in the DC area for free and take advanatge of the Library of COngress, the DAR library, and free museums.
