Hi Andy

Recently I bought Paint Shop Pro XI. I don't believe that it is as good as Photoshop, but it is much less expensive. I am just learning how to use it. There doesn't seem to be much in depth tutorials with it, so I am trying to experiment with it. :? Maybe one day I will get Photo Shop.

Regards

Hi Sheila
I used to be a PhotoShop person - I used it for years. Then I had to teach PaintShop Pro, so had to use it exclusively to get my head round it and so that I knew it well enough. I now prefer it, just because I'm used to it I guess. Still using PSP9 though, so can't help with XI...yet. There are quite a lot of tutoirals on the web. Try a search in Google for PSP XI tutorials.

If you are a professional in the publishing business, you need to have PhotoShop. If not, you can get by, no problem, with PSP.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Andy

A great restoration. I have dabbled in photo restoration myself, getting rid of a "tear" in the original when it got stuck to something. I use an old programme I originally got with my scanner "PhotoImpact" I have another project in the wings trying to "fix up" an old newspaper clipping for a friend, but not sure how it will go. I found the cloning tool was fantastic for cleaning up photos. Through a bit of trial and error, but I always rename the image I am cleaning up so that I still have the original if I need to go back and start again

Like Anne I immediately thought that some of the writing on the back was a child's "naive" writing.

I recall as a child a big picture/photo of my maternal grannie and grandpa dressed to the nines, but it was there Sunday best they were in for the photo. :D
