Hi Lorna
The link above does not seem to be working - its looks like an interesting and worthwhile link to have a look at; can you perhaps check the web address? It could be that it is just offline just now, or perhaps there is a typo in the address.

Best wishes
Lesley

Some(few) have detailed headstones but most are quite basic. It does give information about where graves are to be found. There are many graves of soldiers from the South African war to be found.
I hope this may prove useful to someone.
Good luck,

Lorna,
I haven't found the searchable database on this site. Must be missing something. Would you 'talk' me through it please.
Many thanks
Carole

Thought that you would like to kknow that the death certificate for my great grandfather William WILSON arrived this morning and as half expected does not have any more information than I already have.

BUT

In 1891 census for England I have found a William WILSON at Aldershot - The Battalion the Cameronians Scottish Rifles. He is aged 19 and born Scotland. He is most definitely a possible hit.

As mentioned in other postings his parents were James and Agnes. I have found in the 1891 census a James and Agnes (both born Scotland) living at Newcastle upon Tyne and James is a brassmoulder (William's marriage cert gives James occupation as iron foundry labourer) I have also found this family on the 1881 census and there could be a 'space' for my William.

Anyway, I'll keep plodding on

Carole
