Up to a certain stage I can visualize the situation, as here, for example, but there quite often comes a point when a sheet of A3 paper is brought out and the pencil sharpened David

I'm too cheap to buy A3 paper David

I use a roll of lining wallpaper. Only a couple of quid at Do-It-All

but doesn't the pencil point go through the lining paper awfy easy, but (I just love starting and finishing a sentence with that same word!)

Anyway, my A3 supply is the leftovers from when I worked from home for over 10 years, and, Naw, Ah didnae nick it , - when I was made redundant just over 2 years ago, there was some negotiation, and I bought the contents of my home office for a notional sum (Ah'm no sayin, ken, but Ah wis awfy happie chappie, but ) - there has to be such a transaction, BTW, otherwise there can be an "in kind" tax liability.

Tell me about it! When I finally gave up my Ltd company (I was a Ltd company all on my lonesome ) my accountant made me "buy" the company assets! (PC and peripherals, stationery, etc...) and my daughter, the unpaid company secretary, had to sign the paperwork he produced for the purpose! It was only later that I discovered it wasn't necessary, but he did charge me for doing the work

Most of the site's features (everybody at a particular place, relationships etc) are actually handled by the TNG software that the site runs, rather than from Reunion.

Must admit that I bought TNG and haven't had the time to use it yet (For those unfamiliar with it, TNG is The Next Generation genealogy site building software)

I see, - "superior" so to speak, - perchance even "Kelvinside" standard , or for those from the East, "Morningside", - for those not familiar with the cultural reference and the context, - whichever one, that's where sex is what coal is carried in

But, hopefully, he wrote everything down to the absolutely lowest level, based on, in my case, the equipment and stationery being of absolutely minimal value to my employer, especially given the costs that would have been involved in shipping it 250 miles, with no guarantee that it would be useful to anyone, never mind the costs and admin involved in the shipping, storing, not fitting in with HQ standards, finding suitable "homes", etc.

The cost involved for me was worth it alone in terms of the value to me in the continuation of having a desk top photocopier

What I'll never forgive the company IT Dept for is that they didn't just wipe the hard disk when the laptop was returned temporarily to them for that operation, but they replaced it with a much smaller one without telling me, forbye with no operating system installed , but then, as a remote user of the whole IT system, and having been the veritable "thorn in their sides" for some years, I didn't really expect anything else.

Severe warning, - all due respect to those working in company IT departments but I was never able to come to terms with the IT department's belief that "they" ran the company, as opposed to the reality where the several £100m's worth of contracts brought in by me and colleagues was what paid their salaries - over, - but I did enjoy it

One of these days, my revenge will be a cold, sweet dish
