Jean is warning you that entries in IGI which say that they are submissions rather than "Extracted from" should be checked carefully. They have not been transcribed from official records, but have been provided by someone, probably from their own research, sometimes not very accurate.
Ahh I see .. I will look out for that now. Thank you for that info Mary.

Looking for details of a John (Jack) Henderson b1916? in Glasgow area? He was adopted as a child & possibly brought to the Netherly area of Aberdeenshire.

Hi Annette .. see the developments here? wahooooo :D
Great stuff Wendy.

Since Jean isn't here I'll try to answer your question.

Results from a search of the IGI show extractions and sometimes submissions.

Extractions give the transcribed information from the original records.

Submissions are made by researchers who believe the information they submit to the IGI is correct. Sometimes it is but sometimes it's conjecture.

I posed a question last night about your William and Ann Clark.
Their marriage is shown as a submission from the IGI but surprisingly it showed on SP. This isn't usually the case. Usually it's the other way about.

Basically don't always believe the information supplied by submissions.

Hope this makes sense.

Kind regards,
Annette M

Hi Wendy

I was watching Holby :D

Best wishes
Jean

PS Have you had a look for Ann's father's death. We now know that he was deceased at the time of Ann's death. However we also know that he was alive in 1851. Any chance he died between 1855 and 1861?

There is a death of a Charles Clark in Kinellar in 1858 aged 75!!!!!

Worth a look?
